Speak With A BrokerFAQ
Before you buy: truck finance FAQs
Can I get truck finance without full financials?
Often, yes. Many lenders approve truck loans under $150,000 on a low-doc basis — no tax returns or financial statements — where the business has held an ABN for one to two years (some lenders accept 12 months), is GST registered, has clean credit and the directors own property. Approval on these applications is commonly within 24 to 48 hours.
How much deposit do I need for a truck loan?
Sometimes none at all. Lenders regularly fund 100% of the truck price for established businesses, particularly where the directors own property. A deposit or trade-in brings repayments down and can improve the rate; so can a balloon at the end of the term.
Do you finance used trucks, or trucks bought at auction or privately?
Used, auction and private-sale trucks are all financeable. Most lenders take quality used trucks from dealers; auction and private sales need a little extra paperwork. The catch is age limits — lenders typically want the truck under a certain age at the end of the loan term — so tell us what you’re buying before you commit.
What loan structure is best for a truck: chattel mortgage or lease?
For most owner-operators and fleets, a chattel mortgage: your business owns the truck from day one, you can typically claim GST on the price upfront, and interest and depreciation are deductible. Leases and rental structures suit some cash-flow situations. We will lay out the options; your accountant confirms the tax treatment.
Do you finance trailers and heavy vehicle fleets?
Prime movers, rigids, tippers, vans, trailers and full fleet purchases. Fleet buyers can often set up a facility limit, so each additional vehicle settles quickly without a fresh application every time.
Who do you help with truck finance?
Owner-drivers, subcontractors, civil and construction operators, and transport businesses across the Hills District, Western Sydney and Australia-wide. Our office is in Norwest, and most applications are handled by phone and email at whatever speed your purchase needs — auction deadlines included.
